Wollega University, with a planned enrolment capacity of 12000 students, has currently 320 teaching staff, and 4000 students in 37 academic programs, including, Agriculture, Health, Technology, Business and Economics, Natural Sciences, Law, Social Sciences, and Education.  The University is located in a humid and resource full part of the country, envisaged as a natural laboratory for teaching and learning supported by research. The University is well connected to the capital city, Addis Ababa, with a good asphalt road, and enjoys a good boad band internet connectivity. The University has a Center for the Studies of Environment and Society. A large percent of our staff are first and/or second degree holders, although there are some with PhD, MD and DVM with spcialization. Indeed there is a great need for human capacity building in certain disciplines, and we would very much appreciate any join work that would contribute to capacity building endeavours. Research and extension office of the university is actively engaged in facilitating adaptive research worksd of the statt in Agriculture, Health, and Education. The University staff and students are keen to work inpartnership with Higher Learning Institutions in U.S.A. and Ethiopia, for mutual benefit, in the areas of Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Rural Development, Gender, Environment, Health and Education, Engineering,  Technology Development, and Social Sciences, and Humanities.
